The Top Three Myths of Financial Planning

Guest Blog Post by Kris Miller, 1/9/12

Most people who have a 401K or an IRA have little idea of where their money is invested. When you ask them, “Where’s your retirement money?” they reply, “At the bank” or “With my broker.” No wonder so many people are financially unprepared for retirement.

The fact is that if you want to be financially secure in your Golden Years, you must take control of your investments…today! I support all of the others and educate business owners on the best contexts to make consultants most effective.

Creating New Beginnings

Guest Blog Post by Devon Harris, 1/7/12

Janus - Creating New BeginningsI first heard of Janus when I was in the tenth grade during a welcome back address from our vice principal after the Christmas break. Considered the god of gates and doors, this Roman god lent his name to the month of January and had a rather unusual appearance. He was depicted with a double-faced head, each looking in opposite directions. It is believed that he was depicted in this fashion because of the notion that gates and doors look in two directions. In this way one of his faces was able to look backwards while the other looked forward; representing Janus’ contemplation of the happenings of the old year while looking forward to the new one.
